Krasnodar, 9 July. Last week, the Concert Hall of the Kuban Cossack Choir hosted a historic gathering attended by district Cossack atamans, heads of regional branches of the Young Kuban Cossack League, officials of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Policy, and ataman aides responsible for media relations. The agenda had many various items, including the election of the Chairman of the Young Kuban Cossack League.
The official part of the congress was opened by Aleksandr Kravtsov, Deputy Ataman of the Kuban Cossack Host, and Deputy Head of the regional Department for Cossack, Military Affairs and Work with Preinduction Youth. Speaking on behalf of the Ataman of the Kuban Cossack Host, Deputy Governor Aleksandr Vlasov, he wished that the election of the new leader show confidence and unanimity.
“Big hopes are presently being pinned on the Cossack youth movement. The organization was founded to unite its members from all corners of the region who shared common interests. This commonness of endeavours should accompany League activists in all activities connected with the upbringing of the new Cossack generation, development of local sports of our region, preservation of traditions of our ancestors, and augmentation of the victories and achievements of the Cossack youth,” Mr. Kravtsov said.
He added that the present-day situation requires new formats of work with the young generation.
“Of course, the Youth League is a talent pool of the Kuban Cossack Host, which means that it is important to prepare a worthy succession. The League is young, but it has already had serious achievements. Under the leadership of the Acting Chairman Nikita Dzuiba, [the Youth League] has won 11 Presidential grants for important projects to the total amount of eight million roubles,” Aleksandr Kravtsov stressed. “All initiatives are aimed at the development of sports infrastructure, military-patriotic and social work with children and youth living in remote parts of the Kuban region.”
The congress was attended by the leaders of 38 district Cossack youth organizations. Before the voting began, Nikita Dzuiba delivered a report on the activities of the Young Kuban Cossack League in 2020, marked best achievements and areas for further development.
He said that the League unites 107,000 young Cossacks, mainly students of Cossack forms, schools, cadet corps, universities and colleges. He stressed that in addition to the patriotic and moral upbringing, the League works hard to make Kuban children genuine heirs and carriers of the culture, customs and traditions of their ancestors.
As a result of the voting, Nikita Dziuba was unanimously elected the Chairman of the Young Kuban Cossack League. Speaking after the election, he revealed his future plans and said that his everyday life would not change a lot – he will keep on his active work in various directions.
