Krasnodar, 15 June. The number of COVID-19 cases in Krasnodar krai is again growing.
For several days in a row, the daily number exceeds 100 cases. On Monday, 105 persons fell ill with coronavirus, including 15 underage patients, and 11 lethal outcomes. The highest figures were registered in Krasnodar – 20 positive tests, and Tuapse rayon – 14 new cases.
The figure of 100 new cases a day was passed last Friday. On Saturday, the Ministry of Public Health announced 102 new cases, with 11 lethal outcomes. On Sunday, the figures were 104 and 12, respectively.
Seven hundred thousand Kuban inhabitants have been vaccinated.
“Over 500,000 people have passed the full course, of whom 48% are persons aged 65 and older,” Yuri Sarychev, Vice Director of the Department for Public Medical Care of the regional Ministry of Public Health, said.
“Thirty-eight percent of medical staff have been vaccinated, first of all – those working in the ‘red zones’,” Vice Governor Anna Minkova announced. She noted that 47 medical workers died of coronavirus consequences in March – December 2020, and seven more – this year. “It is a big loss, but now we can see a serious reduction of COVID-related mortality rate among medical workers due to the timely vaccination,” she added.
