Krasnodar, 9 June. The project of new storm drainage at Vishniakova Street was presented in Krasnodar last week.
The intersection of Vishniakova and Novorossiyskaya Streets has for a long while been one of the most frequently submerged spots in the city. When it is raining, the tram traffic practically always comes to a halt.
The drainage project provides for the construction of four main and two backup pumps of the total capacity of 10,500 cubic metres an hour, and two 2.3-km-long 600-mm intake pipes to discharge stormwater via local treatment facilities into the Kuban River.
Presently, the project is undergoing the state expert examination, which is to be completed in early August 2021. The construction permit is to be issued in September or October 2021. The final construction cost will be determined by the examination, and after a bidding procedure the construction works will begin.
“It is a priority project for the city, because the situation in this street often results in a traffic collapse. We have found a technical solution of the problem. Now we will be dwelling upon the items related to the construction of this storm drainage,” Mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov said.
