Krasnodar, 28 April. Last week, Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev had a meeting with Géza Andreas von Geyr, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Russian Federation.
Matthias Schepp, Chairman of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce, also took part in the conversation.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, Mr. Kondratiev said: “Germany remains our main European partner. For us it is important to develop and upgrade this partnership, specifically by strengthening our trade-economic relations.”
“I remember your visit to Germany in 2015. Then nobody would think that our next meeting would occur under such circumstances. The year 2021 is a cross Russian-German year. We are focused on our future and on its prospects,” Géza Andreas von Geyr said.
After the meeting, the Krasnodar region presented the projects, in which German companies may participate, to German entrepreneurs. Germany ranks in the top five countries with the biggest investments in Kuban regional economy. In 2020, the turnover between Kuban and Germany was USD 189 million. The main export items were printed goods, mineral fuel, machine-building equipment, and ferrous metals; the main import goods were machine-building equipment, chemicals, products from ferrous metals, paper and cardboard.
