Krasnodar, 9 April. The press service of the regional administration has announced that 360 unauthorized constructions were detected in the forests of Krasnodar krai. A quarter of them have by now been dismantled; claims on the rest of them are currently being reviewed at courts.
“Eighty-two buildings have already been taken down, and we are proceeding with this work. Otherwise we would put the unique nature of our region at risk. My position remains unchanged – any construction activities in the forests must be stopped, and all illegally built objects must be pulled down,” Governor Veniamin Kondratiev stated.
The regional Ministry of Natural Resources is advancing claims about demolition of unauthorized buildings. The offenders are reportedly pulling down their buildings under a pre-trial protocol, during proceedings, or following a court verdict.
Besides, all municipalities are currently amending their general master plans to stop construction activity in the forests. Owing to that, an area of more than 800 hectares has already been excluded from the boundaries of the city of Krasnodar.
