Krasnodar, 20 January. Aqua farms will be developing in Krasnodar krai.
Vice Governor Andrei Korobka has reportedly charged specialised experts of the regional Ministry of Agriculture to elaborate the ways of financial motivation of aquaculture. He reminded that fish and sea products are part of the export-oriented products. In the context of the national project “International cooperation and export,” their export should reach USD 8 million by 2024.
“Aquafarming is a promising business, and small aquatic farms have all chances to grow into large companies providing with seafood not only local consumers but also foreign customers,” he stressed.
According to Mr. Korobka, the production volumes of harvestable fish in 2020 remained at the level of the previous year, exceeding 21,000 tons. The main fishes bred in the region are European carp, silver carp, and grass carp. The total volume of their harvesting was 20,400 tons.
