Krasnodar, 25 August. The Council of Cossack Organisations will reportedly be founded in Krasnodar krai.
It will be organised in the framework of implementation of the strategy of the national policy on Russian Cossacks until the year 2030, approved this month by a decree of President Vladimir Putin.
The issue of the new Council was discussed last week at a meeting of Vice Governor Sergei Pulikovsky and chiefs of Kuban Cossack public organisations.
The strategy aims to encourage the consolidation of Russian Cossacks, support the cooperation between Cossack communities and other Cossack associations.
“In addition to registered Cossacks, there are many other associations that work actively and make contribution to the development of the Kuban Cossack movement. We need to build a correct system of reciprocity,” Mr. Pulikovsky stressed.
The Council will help coordinate the activities on patriotic education of the youth, holding sports events, care of monuments, and development of agricultural tourism.
Mr. Pulikovsky was also quoted as saying that the Cossack communities and other Cossack associations should be more actively competing for Presidential and regional grants allocated for socially oriented NGOs.
