Krasnodar, 24 January – Yug Times. One more downtown street in Krasnodar may become a pedestrian zone on weekends and state holidays.
What is at issue is Krasnoarmeiskaya street. Krasnodar Mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov was quoted as saying that this street, like Krasnaya street, may become another sight of the city that is interesting for the tourists.
The announcement was made at a meeting with the editors of regional and city media. During the event, Mr. Pervyshov announced a series of other changes that may take place in the city.
For instance, the fifth urban district may be distinguished in Krasnodar, and a network of additional paid parking places be built. The construction of a new embankment from the Turgenevsky Bridge till Rozhdestvensky Park will reportedly begin this year.
Besides, a tramway will be laid along Moskovskaya street. That will be the first new tramway in the city over the past several decades. The construction project reckons for a water disposal system, so it will help do away with rainfall inundations.
