Krasnodar, 13 November – Yug Times. The fountains in Krasnodar will reportedly be winterised. The last day of their work this season was 4 November, the Day of People’s Unity. Next water performances will be held in April 2020.
The winterising work began on the following day, and it will finish in mid-November. Its main purpose is to fully discharge the system of water to prevent its freezing in the winter.
For instance, 800 litres of water will be poured off the fountain standing near Aurora Cinema. Then it will be cleaned, its basins will be washed, and the illumination system will undergo repairs.
“In part, it needs repairs because many people bathe in the fountain in summer. That is why, the facility goes bad,” the contractor Vladimir Bublik explains. “Now we are at the stage of chemical cleaning, then we will remove the bloom, clean the water line, and then we will be using pumps to pour off all water from the pumps and filters.”
With the area of 1,200 sq m, the Aurora is the second largest fountain in the city. It yields only to the fountain at the City Hall. On festivals, it plays musical waters. It is really a giant, with 89 pumps and 1,608 lamps. The fountain is equipped with a state-of-the-art 3D-tech system, similar to those that work with such worldwide renowned fountains as Bellagio Las Vegas, USA and Burj Khalifa, Dubai. Under the fountain, there is a huge mechanical room with the pumps and three-stage water filtration system. This sophisticated mechanism lifts 377 streams of water to the height of 21 metres. The music and light controls are also located in the basement mechanical room. The fountain plays about a dozen tunes.
