Krasnodar, 15 October – Yug Times. Kuban governor Veniamin Kondratiev has reportedly instructed to develop specific regulations for small commercial vessels.
As soon as the algorithm meant to ensure safe water traffic is developed locally, it will be submitted for consideration at the federal level.
At a conference dedicated to development of the resort industry in the region held in Anapa last week, Mr. Kondratiev stressed that water safety is an important element of good holidaymaking. There are still cases of overloading small passenger vessels, he said.
“It must not occur. Guests from throughout the country are coming here to have a rest and improve their health. We are simply obliged to create comfortable and – what is even more important – safe conditions,” Mr. Kondratiev stated.
Presently the Federal Transportation Inspection Service (Rostransnadzor) is authorised only to control the passenger boarding and de-boarding within the port limits. But quite often tourists start their sea voyage from beaches – these boarding zones are not controlled properly.
To improve passenger service, it is planned to organise boarding and de-boarding from pontoons. These measures are meant to release the beaches from vessels let out on hire.
